Philippe Henri Hugon, filmmaker and critic of Hollywood, made the remark in an interview with IQNA, adding that these brands and Hollywood are led by direct investment from Zionist lobbies.
He added that after the Vietnam War, the United States continued its war not by conventional weapons but by commercial brands.
Marlboro cigarettes, Coca Cola drinks, Mc Donald restaurants and Hollywood are the four new weapons of the US that are known around the world, he said.
Hugon, who lives in France, said these weapons are killing people in the world, their minds that is, without them even realizing.
“Today, in Vietnam people talk about these brands and know about them more than they know about Vietnam’s war with America. Meanwhile, Hollywood rewrites the Vietnam war for the new generation in the country.”
He pointed to the role of Zionists and said Zionism has lobbies all over the world and there is no place in the world, in Asia, Europe, and America, where Zionists have not tried to extend their influence among politicians and the media.
“With its vast financial resources, Zionism is directing the world economy and uses this power to exert control over powerful countries.”
The French filmmaker said the best way to confront Zionist conspiracies is using the media. “Zionism employs the media for advancing its agenda and the opponents of Zionism should also realize the power of the media and produce influential anti-Zionist movies to expose to the world the anti-human face of the Zionist current.”
The anti-Zionist activist described making documentaries about Zionists’ activities as a good step but noted that documentaries have limited audience and the best way to address all people is producing movies.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Hugon, who is in Iran attending the third Hollywoodism international conference, pointed to the growing Iranophobia in the French media, saying that what he sees in Iran is different from what the anti-Iran propaganda of the French media portray.
He said organizing more such conference would help to correct the misconceptions about Iran that have been spread by the media.
Hugon, who has laudable anti-Zionist and anti-Imperialist stances, in his trip to Iran has signed an agreement with Farabi Cinema Foundation to make a joint film.
