Speaking at the 8th session of a series of forums on “Faith-based Lifestyle”, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Taqi Fa’ali added that the modern styles of life have highlighted material aspects and caused the decline of the spirit and spirituality.
He referred to the factors involved in lifestyle such as education, spare time, media, games, sports, hygiene, fashion, management of feelings, sexual behaviors, Hijab, etc, saying that profession is one of these factors that has various aspects involved such as relations between the employers and employees, exploiting the workers, and so on.
Hojat-ol-Islam Fa’ali said music, that used to be based on the nature and was very limited in scope has now become very diverse and part of the lifestyle of people.
Among other factors that are influential in shaping one’s lifestyle are marriage and divorce, taking trips, family relations, consumerism, the internet, and satellite TVs, he said.
The cleric stated that lifestyle has various aspects including individual and social as well as material and spiritual, adding that it impacts all of man’s behavior, feelings, ideas and beliefs.
He said one of the features of the modern lifestyle is that it seeks to move mankind away from the nature.
Hojat-ol-Islam Fa’ali stated that Iran is in a period of transition from one style of life to another, hoping that this transition will be in life with the teachings of Islam.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the seminary and university scholar said in one view, the what religion generally comes to is call for compassion and forgiveness.
