Qom to Host “Quran & Orientalists” Int’l Conference

A two-day conference on “Quran and Orientalists” is planned to be held in holy city of Qom later this month.
Slated for February 28-29, the conference will be held at the Quds Hall of Imam Khomeini (RA) Higher Education Center in Qom, Mohammad Morad Khanbaba, secretary of the event told IQNA.
He said three committees will discuss the themes of the conference in two days.
According to Mr. Khanbaba, the event aims to shed light on the views of orientalists about the Quran, pave the way for exchange of ideas among Iranian scholars and contemporary orientalists, and review from the new methods used by orientalists in studying the Quran.
He said it is necessary that seminary and university scholars learn about the views and studies of orientalists as well as their research methodologies.
