IQNA – Police arrested multiple people in Dearborn, US state of Michigan after an anti-Muslim demonstration drew hundreds of counter-protesters and prompted heightened security.

Anti-Islam Quran desecrator Jake Lang and his supporters gathered outside Henry Ford Centennial Library on Tuesday for an event he promoted as a "Christian Crusader" gathering, where confrontations broke out with counter-protesters.
Dearborn police confirmed multiple arrests but said a final count would be released later.
Authorities had deployed additional law enforcement resources ahead of the demonstration.
Mayor Abdullah Hammoud highlighted the impact of the demonstration on the city's Muslim community, recounting an encounter with a boy aged about six or seven who asked whether the protestors were coming to kill him.
"Our children are listening," Hammoud said.
"They hear our conversations, they see the headlines, and they notice when their parents are worried."
Following days of mounting tension, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel confirmed that her department was coordinating directly with Mayor Hammoud, city leadership, and the Dearborn Police Department, offering full state resources and joint monitoring to maintain public safety.
The incident marks the latest in a series of deliberate anti-Muslim provocations by Lang in Dearborn and disturbances during the annual Arbaeen procession earlier this month.
