‘Discover Islam’ in Bristol
Muslim students at Bristol University held an awareness week about Islam and Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him) from Feb. 11 to 16.
Bristol University Islamic Society (BRISOC) organized the week dedicated to celebrating diversity and educating our friends and colleagues about the true message of Islam.
The event was to dispel some common ‘myths’ surrounding Islam, helping people to gain a better insight into the religion, thus fostering a tolerant, harmonious, free and fair society.
“Women in Islam: Do I look oppressed?”, “God: Allah?”, “Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) - billions of followers...but no Twitter” and “Does Jihad = Holy War?” are among the topics that was discussed during this week at Bristol University.
Also an Arts And Poster Exhibition was held alongside the event from Thursday 14TH – Saturday 16TH Feb.
