Speaking via video conference to a ceremony held to commemorate Hezbollah’s martyrs, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah added that the resistance movement is at a high level of readiness and capability.
“Israel knows that whatever we say is serious and that is why it uses its entire means in espionage, violation of (Lebanon’s) sovereignty, and employing reconnaissance aircraft,” he said.
He said Hezbollah’s weapons are for defending Lebanon and the resistance movement against Israel, otherwise they would have no value.
“We are inspired by the martyrs of the resistance movement, learn from them, renew alliance with them,” Nasrallah underlined.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Hezbollah leader pointed to the situation in Bahrain, saying “we support the peaceful uprising of the people of Bahrain and hope national dialogue would help resolve the crisis.”
He also extended condolences over the martyrdom of Hassan Shateri, who was in charge of the Iranian-financed reconstruction projects in Southern Lebanon and said, “We thank all those who have supported the resistance movements in Lebanon and Palestine, especially the Islamic Republic of Iran and Syria.”
Pointing to the allegations against Hezbollah about involvement in the attack on Israeli tourists in Bulgaria, Nasrallah criticized the propaganda in Lebanese and Arab media against Hezbollah and Lebanon over the false allegations.
He said that some have predicted Israel will attack Lebanon over the issue but it will not happen as it did not in the past when Israel accused Hezbollah of involvement in incidents in India, Georgia and Thailand.
Nasrallah also touched on Lebanon’s internal issues, voicing Hezbollah’s willingness to work for real national participation and underlining that no single group or sect can run the country on its own.
