The grand Mufti of Syria vehemently criticized the dual stance of Yusuf al-Qaradawi, head of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, considering the situation in Egypt and Syria.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Al-Mayadin satellite network, Badreddin Hassoun regarded Qaradawi’s remarks as being regrettable and shameful.
He said while Qaradawi urges for dialogue in Egypt, he calls for provoking sectarian tensions in Syria.
Badreddin Hassoun noted that if the International Union of Muslim Scholars wants the resolution of Syria’s crisis, it should send a delegation to Syria to bring people together instead of inviting people to violence.
He said Syria will not give in to the ploys and conspiracies of the United States and Israel that seek to divide the region.
“Those who pursue disintegration of Syria will never achieve their objective,” he underlined.
Hassoun further called on the scholars of the Muslim Ummah to remain vigilant against the West’ conspiracies in the region.
