“Development of Quranic Studies” Int’l Forum Underway

An international forum titled “Development of Quranic Studies” has been underway since February 16.
According to Al-Watan Online, Quranic Studies and Sciences Department of King Saud University in Suadi Arabia has organized the forum in cooperation with the Center for Interpretation of Quranic Studies.
The five-day program began at Hamad Al-Jasir Hall of the university.
Abdul Rahman bin Ma’azah aL-Shahri, chairman of the forum and head of the department announced that the program has been planned with the aim of developing various aspects of Quranic activities including fundamental, financial and technological issues, introducing new approaches in this respect, promoting the opportunity for cooperation among Quranic institutes and developing coordination among organizations actively involved in Quranic affairs.
He added that the organizers of the forum also plan to investigate the facts concerning Quranic studies, the weaknesses and strengths as well as the future prospects of such studies.
The international event will include discussions on 6 main themes and a specialized workshop, educational course as well as a Quranic exhibition featuring various activities and products of Quranic centers.
Al-Shahri noted that there are some specialized bookstores presenting their publications on Quranic issues and specialized seminars have been planned as a part of the program.
