Religion & State Establish Reliable Ties in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan's Chief of the State Committee for work with religious formations, Elshad Isgandarov, said religion and state establish reliable ties in teh republic.

He made the remark while speaking at a conference in Lankaran, Azerbaijan, on relations between the state and religion.
He said Azerbaijani people are historically famous for their tolerant attitude to representatives of other nations and religions.
He also said in Azerbaijan representatives of other religions and nations are treated with respect and "we are going to stay loyal to this policy in the future".
Elshad Isgandarov stated that there have never been tensions and confrontation between religious confessions in Azerbaijan. "This is our biggest achievement", he said.
