In an interview with IQNA, he said the OIC, in cooperation with its member states, can play an important role in coordinating the approaches and stances of Islamic countries to enhance relations between Muslims and bring diplomacy of unity into realization.
He praised the Islamic Republic of Iran for its efforts to promote unity in the Muslim world and said Iran’s policy of boosting relations with different Islamic countries, has an effective role in promotion of the diplomacy of unity.
“I believe the Islamic Republic of Iran enjoys powerful diplomacy that can be effective in strengthening ties among Muslim states,” the Lebanese thinker underlined.
Asked about strategies to implement the diplomacy of unity, he said Muslims are facing common problems whose solution lies in maintaining social, ideological and economic solidarity.
He urged Islamic countries to join the diplomacy of unity, the approach mentioned by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
He also called on these countries to organize conferences and forums and encourage writing papers about the realization of the diplomacy of unity.
Allameh Al-Amin referred to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s emphasis on Islamic unity and efforts to materialize the diplomacy of unity, saying that these emphases originate from the genuine and deep-rooted principles of the Islamic Revolution.
Turning to the challenges facing the Muslim Ummah when it comes to Islamic unity, the Lebanese scholar said Western colonialism and those who have infiltrated the ranks of Muslims have been making attempts to sow discord and spread disunity among Muslims for centuries.
Their conspiracies should be a motivation for Muslims and Islamic countries to strengthen unity in all areas, he underscored.
Allameh Al-Amin pointed to the role of media and said mass media, that have always played a major role in Islamic societies, should contribute to enhancing Islamic unity and take steps in this direction.
Born in 1964 in Southern Lebanon, Allameh Al-Amin is a prominent scholar and founder of the Assembly of Muslim Scholars of Jabal Amel. He also serves as an advisor to the Jafari High Court in Lebanon.
