“Open Shuhada Street” 4th Int’l Campaign Planned in France

The fourth international campaign called “Open Shuhada Street” will be held from February 22 to 25 in France.
According to ism-france website, it is a Palestinian initiative, whose aim is to organize international actions of solidarity with the Palestinian residents of Al-Khalil/ Hebron in the occupied West Bank.
It was launched in 2010 in Hebron and many other cities around the world joined the campaign to demand the opening of Shuhada Street to Palestinians and the end of Israeli occupation.
Palestinians are barred from using Shuhada Street and about half the Arab shops have gone out of business since 1994.
Hebron is a Palestinian city located in the southern West Bank, 30 km (19 mi) south of Jerusalem. Nestled in the Judean Mountains, it lies 930 meters (3,050 ft) above sea level. It is the largest city in the West Bank and home to approximately 250,000 Palestinians, and between 500 and 800 Jewish settlers concentrated in and around the old quarter.
