Vice president of the Higher Shi’ite Council called on the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to hold an emergency meeting to put an end to terrorist attacks in Syria.
Ayatollah Sheikh Abdel-Amir Qabalan made the call in his Friday prayer sermon yesterday, adding that the crimes against the Syrian people are satanic acts.
“We condemn the killing of Syrian citizens in the recent bombing in Damascus and consider it an act that runs against religious, moral, legal and human principles.”
He urged the OIC and Arab League that are witnessing the blind killings in Syria to hold an emergency meeting in Damascus to discuss ways for ending the bloodshed.
Ayatollah Qabalan referred to the crimes committed by the Zionist regime in the occupied lands, and said Israel has forced Palestinians out of their lands and continues to build settlements.
He asked why don’t the enemies of the Syrian government try to confront the Israeli crimes instead of provoking civil war in Syria.
A terrorist bomb attack in the Mazra district of Damascus on Thursday, February 21, left 53 people dead and hundreds more injured. Another blast near the Russian embassy in Damascus on the same day damaged nearby buildings.
