Council of Religious Education for Students Formed in Chechnya

A Council of Religious and Moral Education for students was opened by Education Ministry in the Republic of Chechnya.
According to IQNA’s branch in Europe, the public relations office of the ministry announced that the council comprises high ranking officials of the ministry, as well as directors and deputies of public schools in teh republic.
Anzar Musayev, Minister of Education in Chechnya, said that the council has been formed with the aim of promoting the level of religious education in public schools all over the republic and providing new teaching methods in religious and spiritual fields.
He added that it will be headed by Islam Abuyev and that the members are required to attend the monthly meetings of the council.
In Chechnya, Islam is the predominant religion. Its residents converted to Islam between the 16th and the 19th centuries.
