Syria’s grand Mufti said the country’s ties with Iran are not related to sectarian issues but have originated from Iran’s approach against the world arrogance.
Speaking with Skynews satellite network, Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun added that the two countries’ relations also based on the Islamic Republic of Iran’s support for Quds and Palestine.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Hassoun urged Syria’s opposition groups to take a brave decision to return to the country, hold dialogue with the government and seek change through ballot boxes, Al-Alam news network reported.
He made the remark in response to head of the opposition coalition Maaz Al-Khatib’s call on President Bashar Al-Assad to take a brave decision.
The grand Mufti of Syria also said that the unrest in the country has roots in the activities of foreign agents, and that the presence of armed forces from different countries in Syria is a clear proof of that.
