Speaking to IQNA, Ramezan Mohsenpour added that Islamic medicine has originated from Iran and if it is to develop in the world, it should start in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He noted that many of the most renowned scholars in Islamic medicine were Iranians and that the medical book Qanoon by Iranian scientist and scholar Abu Ali Sina (Avicenna) is still being taught in medical universities in France, Britain and the US.
Mohsenpour stressed the Ministry of Health and Medical Treatment is determined to help promote Islamic and traditional Iranian medicine.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the health ministry official underlined that great accomplishments have been made in health and medical fields in the country since the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
