This is according to Farhad Palizdar, head of Islamic Culture and Relation Organization’s Center for Cultural, International Studies, who also told IQNA that in the current era when the Islamic Awakening has swept the region, if Muslim countries get united they will form a great and influential block.
Referring to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s laying out the issue of diplomacy of unity, he said the issue has always been part of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s slogan.
The diplomacy of unity has always been on top of priorities for the Islamic movement in Iran and that country has set all its approaches in line with this framework since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, he added.
Mr. Palizdar noted that the Supreme Leader’s mentioning of the issue was very judicious at a time when the enemies are making every effort to pit Muslims against one another.
It was a reminder for the organizations and bodies in charge of the country’s diplomacy such as the Foreign Ministry, Islamic Culture and Relation Organization, and Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought to present new plans for implementation of the diplomacy of unity, the official noted.
“In addition to boosting unity, these new plans will identify and thwart divisive activities and pave the way for more cooperation among Muslims.”
He underlined the need for raising awareness among groups that foment discord, adding that Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice will sideline Takfiri groups in time.
Mr. Palizdar also stressed the important and influential role of the cyberspace in advancing the diplomacy of unity.
