This is according to Hezbollah’s representative in Tehran Abdullah Safiyeddin speaking in an interview with IQNA.
He added that there are no ifs and buts about the necessity of following the guidelines and commandments of Imam Khamenei.
Here are excerpts from the second part of the interview:
IQNA: In his stands vis-à-vis internal and external conspiracies, how far has Nasrallah followed the guidelines set by the Vali Faqih?
Safiyeddin: Nasrallah has frequently and explicitly underlined his obedience to Velayat-e Faqih and we, the resistance movement and Hezbollah secretary general, are proud to follow the commandments of the Supreme Leader.
In fact, Nasrallah believes that acting upon the commandments of the Vali Faqih is a religious obligation like saying prayers and fasting.
If we want to know the real reason for the victories of the resistance movement, it is obedience to Velayat-e Faqih.
IQNA: In some verses of the Quran the destruction of Israel has been foretold and Nasrallah has emphasized this in his speeches. What do think?
Safiyeddin: A few decades ago waning and destruction of Israel seemed impossible to us and other citizens of Arab and Muslim countries. But today, following Israel’s repeated defeats in 1993, 1996, and 2000 as well as the crushing defeat in 2006, it is clear that the Zionist regime is moving toward destruction.
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah believes that the Arab and Muslim youths and even some cowardly rulers of Arab countries have come to realize that the myth of Israel’s invincibility terminated with the 2006 war. This is an undeniable truth that Nasrallah has emphasized in his speeches and one that the Jews also admit as they believe that with its first defeat, Israel’s decline and destruction has begun.
Israel has become a burden for the West and the West is making efforts to get rid of this heavy burden that has no use for it.
IQNA: Where has Nasrallah’s support for Palestinian people and resistance movement originated from?
Safiyeddin: This support originates from the Quran. When the Holy Book talks about the Mustaz’afin (the oppressed) it is referring to all Mustaz’afin, whether Muslim or non-Muslim and we have the duty to support all of the world’s Mustaz’afin.
The people of Palestine are among the Mustaz’afin because they have been oppressed and their rights have been trampled on by the Zionist regime. The Nation of Palestine is also a Muslim nation and the Holy Quran commands us to defend Muslims.
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in his latest speech highlighted the responsibility of the Muslim Ummah to defend Palestine. This is a human, Quranic and religious responsibility.
IQNA: How do you see Nasrallah’s stands vis-à-vis the situation in Syria?
Safiyeddin: Nasrallah believes what is happening in Syria is an attempt by the West and its cronies in the region to punish the country for its support for the resistance movements in Lebanon and Palestine. Hezbollah’s secretary general believes that the West seeks to force Bashar Al-Assad to abandon his support for the resistance movement because Syria is the only Arab country that has sided with the Palestinian and Lebanese nations.
The United States is now working to put pressure on Syria and depose the country’s government so that it can bring a government to power that would confront the resistance movement and advance Washington’s agenda in the region.
Hezbollah’s secretary general has announced that Syria will never be defeated because the line of resistance is a powerful one that is rooted in the hearts and lives of this country’s people.
IQNA: And your final comment?
Safiyeddin: I say this to the Iranian nation that the resistance movement is a powerful one and no one can defeat it. The resistance movement has a vigilant, resourceful and rational leader who knows what he wants and where he is going. This movement has a powerful military force and has youths in Lebanon who know what they want. They are ready for defending their country and martyrdom. The resistance movement is powerful enough to confront any aggression. I would like the Iranian nation to know that this movement will remain steadfast and, with the help of God, no one will be able to undermine it.
