Int’l Quran Memorization Contest for Military Forces to Conclude in Saudi Arabia

The 7th edition of international Quran memorization contest for military forces in Saudi Arabia will conclude today, March 3 in Riyadh, the capital.
According to Bab website, the closing ceremony of the competition will be held with the participation of Deputy Defense Minister Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz.
The conference hall of King Faisal Air Academy in Riyadh will host the program.
The competition was attended by 117 representatives from different countries including Jordan, Bahrain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Senegal, Sudan, Kuwait, Morocco, Nigeria, Yemen, Indonesia, Pakistan, Brunei, Bangladesh, Chad, Oman, Qatar, Libya, Malaysia, Egypt, Mauritania, Djibouti, Comoros Islands, Afghanistan and Britain.
This edition of the contest began on February 23 at Ritz-Carlton Hotel in the capital city.It was the first time that the international event hosted British Quran memorizers.
The participants competed in four categories of memorization of the entire Quran with Tajweed and Tarteel and memorization of 20, 10 and 5 Juzes (parts) of the Holy Quran with Tajweed and Tarteel.
Seminars with the participation of Saudi Arabia’s Board of Scholars and members of Fatwa Committee of the country as well as an exhibition on Quranic technologies were the programs held on the sidelines of the contest.
