Role of Interfaith Dialogue in Preventing Takfiri Acts Highlighted

Head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization highlighted the role of dialogue among religions and sects in preventing Takfiri acts (violence rooted in considering one’s fellow Muslim as infidel).
Mohammad Baqer Khorramshad made the remark in a meeting with Lebanon’s Culture Minister Gabbon Liyon, calling on regional countries to cooperate to prevent Takfiri activities in countries like Syria and Lebanon.
He also stressed the importance of cultural cooperations in the current sensitive conditions, describing cultural cooperation between Iran and Lebanon as deep.
Khorramshad said the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to expand joint cultural activities and said the two nations have a lot in common in cultural and religious fields.
The Lebanese minister for his part thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran’s cultural center in Lebanon for its constructive cultural activities.
He also noted that the Lebanese people view development of Iran’s cultural activities in Lebanon as very positive.
