Tafsir of Surah al-Anbiya to Be Discussed in London University

Tafsir of Surah al-Anbiya in a one day course which is going to be held in Queen Mary College of London University, 11the of May.

Surah al-Anbiya deals with the importance of Prophetic reminders as it is human nature to be forgetful, we are in constant need of reminders – what better reminders than those from our blessed prophets? Surah al-Anbiya begins with the nature of Prophethood and how their message was received. Prophets were sent to remind mankind of their heavenly origin and destiny, to remind mankind that their lives have a purpose and to encourage human beings to recognize the Divine creation that surrounds them.
Also mentioned in this surah are particular incidents and aspects of the Prophets’ lives. Amongst those are Ibrahim's confrontation against idolatry, Lut's fight against his township, Nuh’s continual struggle of dawah for 950 years, Dawud and Sulayman’s kingship and their high rank in spiritual and material bounties, Ayub’s struggle against sickness and his reward for patience and Yunus's dua of repentance from inside the belly of the whale.
The surah ends with a wonderful confirmation of Allah’s last Prophet and Messenger, Muhammad (s), who brought the final Divine Reminder and a mercy to the universe.
