Brunei Semi-Finals Nat'l Quran Reading Competition Begin

The semi-finals of the National Quran reading competition for adults organized by the Islamic Eminence Development Section of the Brunei Ministry of Religious Affairs along with the Islamic Da'wah Center started yesterday.
The three-day competition began with 23 participants comprising of 15 qaris and eight qariahs vying to proceed further into the competition.
The objective of the competition is to improve the quality of readings amongst the qaris and qariahs while it also serves to open the mind and interest of the society in learning proper technique that is systematic.
The semi-finals will continue on today and tomorrow in hopes of selecting competitors that are qualified to enter the finals of the national competition.
