International Conference on Religious Studies in Sri Lanka
The International Conference on Religious Studies (ICRS 2013) will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka on 15-16 July2013.
Organized by International Center for Research and Development (ICRD), Sri Lanka, the conference will be held under the Theme of “Religion & Globalization in the 21st Centaury”.
Its main focus is the academic study of religion itself: its theories, its methods and above all its engagement in scientific, political and cultural events.
Origin of religion, Religion and Education, Feminism and Religious Traditions, Religion and Peace Studies, Interfaith Dialogue, Comparative Religion, Religious studies vs. theology, Anthropology of religion, Economics of religion, Geography of religion, History of religion, Psychology of religion, Sociology of religion, Religion and law, Religion and commerce, Religion & Politics, Media for religious messages, Religious leadership and Religions in globalization are among the themes to be discussed in the conference.
ICRS 2013 is the premier forum in South Asia for the presentation of new trends, advances and research results in the fields of Religious Studies. It will bring together leading academics, scientists and researchers from around the world.
Contemporary study of religions is a highly specialized field of science in which historical, sociological, psychological, political science, anthropological, esthetic, gender, culturological and philosophical knowledge of a set of specific human activities meet and are denominated under a general concept of "religions".
The conference will consists of paper presentations, panel sessions, round table discussions, performances, short films and posters.
