Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought discussed the issues of the Muslim Ummah with vice president of the Higher Shiite Council Sheikh Abdel-Amir Qabalan.
Ayatollah Araki met Sheikh Qabalan in the headquarters of the council in Beirut. Iran’s Ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi was also present in the meeting.
Ayatollah Araki said the onslaughts against the resistance movement are a dangerous plot hatched by the world arrogance and Zionism to break the will of the resistance movement, sow discord among Muslims and pit Muslims against one another.
He added that the hegemonic powers were conspiring against the resistance movement and the Islamic Ummah.
The WFPIST secretary general underlined that the Islamic resistance movement and the judicious political and religious leaders of the Muslim world will remain insightful and thwart these conspiracies like they have done before.
Sheikh Qabalan, for his part, stressed the need for enhancing cooperation and proximity among Islamic schools of thought in order for the Muslim Ummah to become powerful enough to confront enemy plots.
He also praised the Islamic Republic of Iran’s stands and its efforts to promote moderate Islam based on the teachings of the Quran and Holy Prophet (PBUH).
