Norouz marks the first day of spring and the beginning of the year in the Iranian calendar.
Imam Khamenei made the statement on Saturday in a meeting with officials of government organizations and other bodies that are responsible for providing services for vacationers during Norouz holidays.
His Eminence described the work of those who serve people in new year holidays as more valuable and important than those done in other times of the year, stressing that God will thank them and reward their services to people.
Imam Khamenei further urged people and travelers to obey traffic rules so that their holidays will not be marred by unpleasant incidents.
At the end of his statements, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution wished the Iranian people happy Norouz holidays.
Prior to Imam Khamenei’s speech, Iran’s Police Chief General Ahmadi-Moqaddam presented a report on the police force’s plans for Norouz and preparations for minimizing road accidents.
