The secretary-general of the Iranian High Council for Human Rights called on Muslim countries to stand up to the West’s domination.
Speaking in a meeting with representatives of the Organization of Islamic Countries, Mohammad Javad Larijani stressed that Muslim countries must not allow the domination of the Western culture to spread under the cover of human rights claims.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 22nd meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland.
Larijani also pointed to the recent report issued by the United Nations Special Rapporteur for Human Rights in Iran Ahmed Shaheed, saying that Shaheed has explicitly questioned Islamic laws in his report about Iran.
“We are part of the Islamic Ummah and have the right to make our laws based on Islamci Sharia,” he underlined.
He warned Muslim countries that if they fail to take a stand against such political propaganda campaigns against Islamic laws, the West will impose its liberal-democracy lifestyle on others under the cover of human rights claims.
