Sulaimania Quranic School Opens in Mauritania

A Quranic school named Sulaimania was inaugurated in the Mauritanian capital of Nouakchott on Sunday, March 17.
Salmu Walad Babe, an advisor to Mauritania’s Islamic Affairs Ministry and Musa Kulakikaya, Turkish Ambassador to the African country, were present at the inauguration ceremony, ami.mr website reported.
The school has been established in honor of prominent Turkish Quran reciter and interpreter Helmi Sulaiman.
Speaking at the ceremony, Kulakikaya hoped that the youth and teenagers interested in learning the Quran gather in the school.
Muhammad Walad Muhammad Salem who heads the Mauritanian-Turkish Friendship Association also addressed the program, appreciating the efforts of those who contributed to the establishment of the school.
The inauguration was part of the three-day national Quranic festival of Mauritania that began on Saturday. It includes various Quranic, cultural and religious programs.
