Iranian Hajj Pilgrims Killed in Jeddah Airport Crash

A Saudi truck got out of control and entered Jeddah International Airport’s transit hall where Iranian pilgrims were standing on Thursday.
The incident left two Iranians killed and two others injured, Al-Alam news network reported.
The pilgrims were waiting to board the airplane and return to the Islamic Republic of Iran after finishing their Umrah (minor Hajj) pilgrimage, when the crash happened.
The truck smashed into a glass wall and entered the hall at 4:40 P.M.
According to the Hajj Information Website, a technical problem in the truck was the main cause of the incident.
It said Pari Arfa’a, 78, and Zahra Atashzai, 61, both from Tehran lost their lives in the incident while Tahereh Shadkam and Hadi Raeisi were sent to hospital.
Suadi Hajj authorities and officials of the airport have said they will look into the incident.
