At least eight people including three soldiers have been killed and several others wounded in three separate attacks across Iraq, police said.
The soldiers lost their lives on Friday when their vehicle hit a roadside bomb in Abu Ghraib neighborhood in the western part of the capital, Baghdad.
In the city of Hillah, a bomb explosion also killed three civilians and wounded 15 others on the same day.
In another incident, a roadside bomb exploded in the city of Baqouba, 60 kilometers (35 miles) northeast of Baghdad, soon after Friday prayers and killed two people, injuring a dozen more.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but militants affiliated with al-Qaeda are commonly blamed for such attacks in Iraq.
On April 1, at least 12 people including security forces were killed in Baghdad and the city of Tikrit.
The attacks come amid a rise in violence across the country as Iraqis prepare for their first elections in three years. The provincial polls are due to be held in 12 of Iraq's 18 provinces on April 20.
