Abdurrabbih told Turkish press the heirloom Quran left to him by his grandmother has a height of 2.4 centimeters and a width of 1.9 centimeters.
Explaining that he has no knowledge of how his grandmother come to possess the 604-page Quran with gold ornaments, Abdurrabbih said, “according to what I learned from my relatives, it was probably written during the Ottoman period nearly 400 years ago."
Abdurabbih specified that after reading a news story about the smallest Quran in the world in Malaysia, he measured his own Quran and realized it measured even smaller in width and height. He stated, “I am hopeful about this Quran entering the Guinness World Records Book.”
