Digital Map of Locations of Revelation Designed
A digital map of the locations where the verses of the Holy Quran were revealed to the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) heart has been produced.
The University of Al-Damam in Saudi Arabia has designed and produced the map along with a digital encyclopedia of the locations of revelation, Al-Sharq daily reported.
The map and encyclopedia were presented at the 8th national seminar on “Geographical Information Systems (GIS) held recently in Al-Damam.
Abdullah Ghazi who has designed the map in 7 years, said it is meant to document the places and the time when each of the Quran’s verses were revealed.
He said it is necessary that in the digital age, new technologies be used to serve the religion and its history.
A number of experts in different fields helped him to produce the digital map, he went on to say.
