Quran Competitions’ Contenders Urged not to Forget Quranic, Islamic Ethics

Director of the country’s Islamic Seminaries urged contenders in Quran competitions not to overlook Quranic and Islamic ethical principles.
Addressing the opening ceremony of the 17th national competition on Adhan, Ibtihal (Quranic songs), and Choral Recitation of the Quran, Ayatollah Hosseini Boushehri added that the contestants should be aware not to be trapped by conceit because that would be the beginning of their fall.
He underlined that anyone who gets acquainted with the Quran should be more humble and more spiritual than others.
Quran activists should try to promote the religious and spiritual atmospheres in society and attract people to the Quran, the senior cleric stated.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Hosseini Boushehri the competition on Adhan, Ibtihal, and Choral Recitation of the Quran aims to promote and institutionalize the culture of Quran at the national and international levels.
He said the victory of the Islamic Revolution has provided a golden opportunity for promotion of the Quran and the Quranic culture.
“Thanks to the Islamic Revolution and the leadership of Imam Khomeini (RA) and the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, there is an enthusiastic move in the country, especially among the youth, toward religion and spirituality.”
He went on to say that the Quranic officials in the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization hold various Quranic programs in the country and that such activities and programs should continue.
The 17th national competition on Adhan, Ibtihal, and Choral Recitation of the Quran kicked off in Tehran’s Andisheh hall on Saturday, April 20.
