According to Al-Bayan newspaper, Ibrahim Muhammad Bu Milha, head of the committee announced that registration for this edition of the contest concluded on April 18.
He said that the competition is an important part of Dubai International Quran Award, which is held on Tarteel recitation of the Holy Quran’s verses and recitation of Adhan.
The preliminary stage of the contest will be held on May 5 with participants from various age groups including teenagers under 15, the youth from 15 to 25 and adults aged above 25.
Prayer leaders of mosques and muazzins will be the two other groups of participants at the contest.
Hassan Al-Sheikh Mosque in Al-Twar region in Dubai will host the final stage of the competition on May 18.
The competition will be organized with the aim of introducing the best Quran reciters of the country, promoting their status in the society and presenting a reliable model of TV Quran contest in the UAE.
