Support Fund for Quran Activists to Be Set up

The Quran and Etrat Deputy of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance said a support fund for the country’s Quran activists is planned to be established.
Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, April 21, Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Mohammadi said the mechanisms for establishing and using the fund will soon be announced by the ministry.
Pointing to the Quranic programs planned by the culture ministry for the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21), he said it plans to hold a Quran competition at the national level, introduce the top Quranic institutes of the country and organize the national Quran examination.
He said after the Character for Development of Quranic Activities was approved, the Council for Development of the Quranic Culture has sought to change the attitude of the Quranic managers based on the content of the charter and give Quranic institutes a new outlook and new mechanisms.
According to the official, grounds have been prepared for implementing the three main objectives of the charter, namely organization and coordination of Quranic activities, culture-making and systemizing Quranic activities in the country.
Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammadi referred to the establishment of the Quran and Etrat Deputy in the culture ministry, saying that the deputy safeguards the society’s spiritual health.
He added that the deputy follows the guidelines set by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and supports the activities of Quran reciters and memorizers and Quranic activists, researchers, and artists, and all other servants of the Holy Book.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the culture ministry official said in the past four years, 8 national examinations on Quran memorization and Quranic concepts were held in the country, in which some 550,000 individuals took part.
This year’s national Quran examination will be held in two weeks, he said, adding that 60,000 individuals have signed up to take the exam.
Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammadi went on to say that the deputy has also managed to train over 5000 memorizers of the entire Quran.
