Top Tawasheeh Groups Selected

The country’s top Tawasheeh groups were introduced at the closing ceremony of the National Competition on Adhan, Ibtihal, Tawasheeh and Choral Quran Recitation.
Culture minister Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini was present at the ceremony, which was held Tuesday morning at Andisheh Hall of the Islamic Development Organization’s arts department.
The jury panel of the contest selected the Shamim-e Behesht (scent of paradise) group from Mazandaran province as the country’s best Tawasheeh (religious songs) ensemble.
31 Tawasheeh groups from all over the country competed for the top title for two days, and the final stage concluded on Monday night.
Basaer group from Isfahan, Mee’ad from Qom, Meshkat from Khuzestan and Taha from East Azarbaijan came second to fifth, respectively.
Winners of the 5 top titles were awarded cash prizes of 40 to 60 million rials as well as a copy of the Holy Quran, and a certificate of honor.
The 17th National Competition on Adhan, Ibtihal, Tawasheeh and Choral Quran Recitation was held on April 20-23 in two sections for men and women.
