According to IQNA’s branch in Europe, the competition was organized in cooperation with the Center for Training Quran Memorizers affiliated to the Russian Islamic University in Tatarstan.
The office announced that the contest was planned for children under 7 and teenagers under 15 years of age.
A group of experts of the religious office and the Quranic center evaluated the recitations.
At the end of the contest, Hamza Habib Rahmanov and Ahmad Hadiev were selected as the top Quran reciters.
The Russian Islamic University was founded in 1998 in Kazan, Tatarstan, Russia. The University consists of three departments (Theology, Islamic Science and Hafiz Preparation) and four sub-departments (Humanities, Islamic Law, Islamic Theology and Filology). In 2008 the University had around 70 faculty and more than 400 students.
