OIC Welcomes UNESCO’s Decision of Forming a Fact-Finding Mission over Jerusalem

The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, welcomed the decision of UNESCO to form a committee of experts to study the case of Old City of Jerusalem and its historic walls places.

He stressed the importance of enforcing the task of this mission on time, in order to enable the international community to see the reality of the city of Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
The Secretary General said that he highly evaluates the significance role of the Director General of UNESCO in this context, stressing that the task of this mission will contribute to putting an end to the abuses of the occupying power of Israel of the historical places and shrines in Al-Quds Al-Sharif. Ihsanoglu expressed the readiness of the OIC to contribute and cooperate with this important mission.
