This is according to French Muslim author and investigative journalist Ian Mansour Tofique de Grange, who made the remark in an interview with IQNA.
Asked about the silence of the Western media or human rights organizations over the killing of Muslims n countries like Myanmar, Bahrain, Afghanistan and Iraq, he said there are some human rights institutions in the West that strongly condemn such atrocities, but these condemnations get nowhere because the main power in the world today is in the hands of the media.
“Besides, the Muslim world does not support these groups and institutions to empower them to defend world people’s rights.”
He underlined that the Muslim world should support such groups that have volunteered to defend the rights of the oppressed people. “When a non-Muslim stands up in support of Muslims’ rights, it will surely be more effective than when Muslims and Islamic media demand their rights.”
De Grange underlined that the power of the media in today’s world is undeniable, adding that the US government and the Zionist military and political lobbies control the world media directly or indirectly.
Asked about the reasons behind the spread of anti-Islamic incidents in the West, he said the United States has always tried to maintain an enemy in order to justify its weaknesses in different areas.
He said the former Soviet Union was the best choice for a long time but after the USSR collapsed, the American government had to find a new, strong enemy so that whenever it faces problems in running the country, it can blame it on the so-called enemy and that is why it turned to the Muslim world.
The French journalist said that another reason behind the West’s enmity with Islam is that its modernism runs counter to the Islamic line of thought.
He said the West is totally against the Islamic beliefs about running the society and that is why it saw Islam as the best choice for taking as its enemy.
“In fact, modernism or the society’s progress are not the main issues for the West, but what matters there is capitalism, which takes into account into account the interests of a few and this furthers the gap between Islamic ideas and the so-called modern ideas of the West.”
De Grange stressed that Iran’s Islamic Revolution proved that Islam is capable of running the society.
He was also asked about the recent bombings in the US city of Boston. De Grange condemned the attacks and said such incidents give way to the spread of Islamophobia.
