Islamic Proximity Plan Facing Sensitive Conditions

The city of Najaf’s source of emulation Ayatollah Bashir Najafi said the Islamic proximity plan is facing difficult and sensitive conditions.
He made the remark on in a meeting with Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, adding that that given the challenges in the Muslim world, the plan is in a difficult situation.
Ayatollah Najafi referred to the situation of Muslims and the killing of Shi’ites in Pakistan, Bahrain, Iraq, Syria and other countries, urging the Iranian authorities to make endeavors to help put an end to these atrocities.
Ayatollah Araki, who is Iraq to attend the first international conference on Islamic proximity, thanked Ayatollah Najafi for his support for the forum’s activities and for sending his representative to the 26th International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran.
He also said that the forum plans to set up a union of Islamic resistance scholars and an Islamic peace committee to resolve the crises facing the Muslim world.
Ayatollah Araki said the first meeting of the committee will be held in Lebanon with the participation of prominent Muslim figures from around the world.
The first international conference on Islamic proximity began in Baghdad on Sunday morning under the supervision of Iraq’s president. 300 religious figures from Arab and Muslim countries are present at the international event in Baghdad.
