Speaking to IQNA, Sayyed Hussein Sharafeddin said such calls by Takfiris (those considering their fellow Muslims as infidels) are against logic and reason and have no place in religion
“We totally reject the idea of killing human beings, whether Shia or Sunni, and oppose the crimes of the Takfiris.”
He underlined that Fatwas like the one issued by Wahabi Sheikh Muhammad Al-Arifi about Jihad-ul-Nikah (sending women and girls to Syria to marry armed terrorists there) do not have any origins in Islamic teachings and run against reason and logic.
He regretted that Takfiri groups are seeking to eliminate Shi’ism from the region, saying that Wahabi Sheikh Sa’ad Al-Derihem has urged for killing Shia women, because they can raise children who love the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) and has called for killing Shia children because they will grow up to become Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) devotees.
Sharafeddin said such unacceptable calls by Wahabi sheikhs should not be regarded as Fatwas because Fatwa is a sacred word and Fatwas should be issued with the aim of seeking God’s contentment.
“Hence, such calls by Wahabi sheikhs to kill Shi’ites are not Fatwas but heresies.”
He referred to the allegations made by Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, head of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, about cooperation of Nouri Al-Maleki, Iran and Hezbollah against Sunnis, saying that Al-Qaradawi is among the Takfiris who have nothing else to do to gain their objectives but making allegations.
Sharafeddin noted that countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the US are behind the moves by Al-Qaradawi and this shows that they have failed to confront the followers of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) directly.
“These groups (Takfiris) have failed to make Iran accept the wrong policies of the US and that is why they resort to making allegations.”
Sayyed Hussein Sharafeddin is a senior Lebanese scholar and researcher and formerly was the manager of Al-Jafariya School in the city of Tyre, Lebanon.
