“Islam, The Youth and Future” Nat’l Forum Planned in Bashkortostan

The second edition of a national forum on “Islam, the youth and future” will be held on May 20 in Ufa, the Republic of Bashkortostan.
According to IQNA’s branch in Europe, the program will be organized by the Council for State-Religion Relations affiliated to the Presidential Office of the country, the Central Office for Russian Muslims’ Religious Affairs, the Religious Office for Muslims’ Affairs in Bashkortostan, Islamic University of Russia in Ufa and Teacher Training University in Kugarchinsk region.
A number of scholars and clerics, officials of the religious offices, representatives of young Muslims from various parts of the country, students and seminarians as well as journalists and the staff of the mass media will take part at the forum.
Rustam Hamidov, president of Bashkortostan, Talaat Safa Tajeddine, head of the Office for Muslims’ Religious Affairs in Russia, Grand Mufti and head of Muslims’ Religious Affairs in Bashkortostan are among the figures invited as honorary guests of the forum.
Islamic education and training and methods for its development, Muslim youth and internet and problems caused by dissemination of extremist religious thoughts among the youth are some of the themes of the program.
Over 600 religious and academic figures as well as government officials attended the first edition of the program in Ufa last year.
