Islam's Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) “said the Ummah (Nation) of Islam is one Ummah. We must work to get this goal because the Islamic world working together as one, as a unified community or even a bloc, could help the Islamic world, the Islamic countries, the Muslim people themselves, and be a force for change in the world,” Hamid Golpira said in an interview with Press TV on Tuesday.
The journalist stressed that the Muslim world has to be careful not to fall in traps set up by enemies of Islam that “want to see the Islamic world perpetually divided, because they fear any unification of the Islamic world.”
The foreign-backed militants in Syria have attacked the mausoleum and exhumed the grave of the ancient Muslim figure Hujr ibn Adi, a companion of the prophet, in the suburb of Adra in Syria’s capital.
The al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusrah group has claimed responsibility for the destruction of the shrine.
Golpira pointed out that Muslims needed to learn more about the plots of the enemies, saying, “Provocations and the outside influence agitation won’t probably have an effect if people are properly educated to think as one Ummah.”
The analyst also commented on a speech by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, who said the enemies were seeking to fan the flames of hostility between the Shia and Sunni Muslims by desecrating the shrine of Hujr and called for continued condemnation of the move.
“This single instant is one instant of many and a bigger plot is happening in the world to divide the Muslims all across the Muslim world,” Golpira said.
He also said that more things should be done in media, education systems, and among people to create some kinds of changes and understand the enemies’ plots.
“In some ways, we are also guilty of not defending properly…Many things need to be done to integrate the Islamic world,” he added.
