200 Students Competing in Quran& Hadith Olympiad

200 students of the University of Quranic Sciences and Teachings compete in the university’s 3rd Quran and Hadith Olympiad.
Hamid Reza Shafiei, director of the university’s public relations office made the announcement in an interview with IQNA, adding that the Olympiad began Tuesday, May 7, in the holy city of Qom.
“The opening ceremony was held at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Hall of the holy mausoleum of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA) on Tuesday night,” he said.
Mr. Shafiei added that the oral section of the Olympiad includes categories like memorization of 5, 10, and 20 Juzes (sections) and memorization of the entire Quran, as well as Tahghigh and Tarteel recitation of the Quran.
He said the categories of the written section include Ahkam (Islamic laws), the Seerah of the Infallibles (AS), and Quranic concepts.
The official noted that Quran experts such as Sotudenia, Hanifi, Shahidipour, Dehdashti and Kasmayi from the panel of judges in the men’s section while in the women’s section Adibnejad, Izadi, Ezzatpajouh, Assadi and Afkhami will judge the performance of the contestants.
He went on to say that on the sidelines of the Olympiad a number of programs and forums will be held for the participants.
The 3rd Quran and Hadith Olympiad of the University of Quranic Sciences and Teachings will conclude on Thursday, May 9.
