Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Taqi Fa’alli made the remark during the 11th session of a series of forums on “Faith-based Lifestyle”, challenging everyone to put to test this promise of God at least once.
He said whoever tells the truth will be backed by God and the universe for sure. “You should put your trust in God and see how He puts the entire universe in your support.”
The scholar said anyone who withholds the truth in fear of losing his prestige will lose it anyway. “God has said when you see that something is the truth accept it and He will defend you.”
He further pointed to the characteristics of Muttaqin (people of Taqwa, the God-fearing) and said having a firm belief in Ghayb (the unseen) is one of their characteristics.
“Faith in Ghayb means faith in God, in other words believing what God says exists without seeing it. The first characteristic of good people is that they believe the existence of a world that they have not seen just because God says it exists.
“One of God’s names is Haqq (the Truth) and someone who does not succumb to the truth is actually rejecting Haqq and naturally becomes a Kafar 9disbeleiver). A Mumin (believer), on the other hand, accepts the truth even if it is against him.”
He said all the great thinkers of the world, including Avicenna, Mulla Sadra, and others chose to tell the truth when they realized that they were wrong.
Hojat-ol-Islam Fa’alli also referred to the characteristics of Kuffar (disbelievers) and said Kuffar are those who resist accepting the truth.
He quoted verses six and seven of Surah Al-Baqarah “Indeed, those who disbelieve - it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe. Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing, and over their vision is a veil. And for them is a great punishment,” and said that the hearts of kuffar are impervious to the truth.
The series of forums on “Faith-based Lifestyle” are held by the Iranian Academics’ Quranic Activities Organization.
