Hezbollah Raps Raid on Bahraini Cleric’s House

Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement condemned the Al-e Khalifa regime forces’ attack on the home of Bahrain’s Shia leader Sheikh Issa Qassem.
Issuing a statement on Friday, Hezbollah described the raid as a stark violation of the rights of the senior cleric and an insult to revered religious figures, Libanonfiles website reported.
The group expressed solidarity with Sheikh Qassem and called on the faithful and courageous nation of Bahrain to support the senior scholar.
The statement also urged Arab and Muslim countries to make efforts to prevent attacks on religious figures as well as the civilian population of Bahrain, especially women and children.
Meanwhile, head of Allameh Fadlallah Institute Sayyed Ali Fadlallah also slammed the raid on Sheikh Qassem’s houseand warned agisnt the internal and international consequences of such measures by Al-e Khalifa regime.
Earlier in the day, Bahraini forces raided Sheikh Issa Qassem’s home in the village of Duraz and searched the house.
Women and children of the sheikh's family were in the house at the time of the raid, but the sheikh was not at home.
