Friends of Syria Int’l Conference Begins in Tehran
The Friends of Syria Conference started in Tehran’s Azadi Hotel on Wednesday afternoon.
Political officials from as many as 40 countries are attending the conference along with heads of regional and international organizations as well as influential political figures.
The conference aims to find a political solution for Syria’s crisis with the motto of “Regional Solution, Political Stability”.
Former Lebanese President Emile Lahoud and former Brazilian ambassador to North Korea Arnaldo Karilho are the two special guests in the international event.
The conference opened with a speech by Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Akbar Salehi.
