Iran’s 30th Int’l Quran Competition to Kick off Friday

The opening ceremony of the 30th International Holy Quran Competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran will be held Friday afternoon.
Head of the Supreme Leader’s Office Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammadi-Golpayegani, head of the Awqaf and Chairty Affairs Organization Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Mohammadi and a number of other officials will attend the ceremony at Tehran’s Summit Convention Center.
Representatives of 75 countries will compete in the categories of memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran in three stages.
On the sidelines of the international competition, Quranic sessions will be held in Tehran and Alborz provinces with the participation of Iranian and Egyptian Quran reciters.
Among other sideline programs are a Quranic seminar and the 4th congress for honoring women Quran reciters.
The international competition will conclude on Thursday, June 6, and winners will be awarded at a ceremony on June 7.
