According to the public relations and information office of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, this edition of the competition was held with the participation of a large number of government officials and cultural, scientific and academic figures as well as representatives of Muslim communities in various parts of the country.
Head of the Muslims’ Commission of Peace, minister of Muslims’ affairs, ambassador of Kuwait and representatives from embassies of Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Brunei, Egypt, Qatar, Malaysia, Bangladesh and head of the Iranian Cultural Center in Manila also took part in the program.
The University of the Philippines in the capital city hosted the contest held with the participation of 32 winners of Quranic competitions in provincial stages.
16 top Philippine judges of Quranic contests including Musa Ahmad Pan Day, head of Muhammad Rasulullah Dar-ol-Quran Center in Mindanao supervised the national competition.
Three students of the Dar-ol-Quran center, which is affiliated to the Iranian cultural center in Manila, won the first to the third ranks in the contest.
The first and the second rank winners of the national Quran contest are dispatched by the Philippine’s government every year to the international Quran contests in Malaysia and Iran respectively.
