Copies of the Holy Quran in Braille have been distributed among the visually-impaired in Palestine.
According to the Emirati Dar-ol-Khalij daily, 300 copies were handed out in Tulkarm province as part of the “Braille Quran for the Visually-impaired” plan.
Ibrahim Al-Rashed, director of Emirates Charity Institute in the West Bank said with the coming of the holy month of Ramadan, the copies distributed in universities, mosques, schools and public libraries.
He said students and mosque preachers have cooperated in implementing the plan.
Ahud Yaeish, head of Women’s Union in Nablus hailed the plan and said the visually-impaired will benefit more from reading the Quran for themselves than listening to recitation of the verses by others.
