Director of the university’s Islamic Teachings Department made the announcement in an interview with IQNA’s Fars branch, adding that the congress will be held on January 22-23, concurrent with the birth anniversary of the Holy prophet (PBUH) and the Unity Week.
Hojat-ol-Islam Abdol-Reza Mahmoudi said the event aims to promote the Seerah of the Prophet (PBUH) as the inspiring source of knowledge in the Muslim world.
He added that seven main themes will be discussed at the congress, including “treatment of diseases in Seerah Nabawi”, “medical ethics in Seerah Nabawi”, “medical education in Seerah Nabawi”, and “role of Islamic civilization in development of medical sciences”.
Hojat-ol-Islam Mahmoudi noted that some 250 Iranian and foreign scholars and researchers are expected to attend the international congress.
