Senior Cleric Passes Away

Ayatollah Seyyed Jalaleddin Taheri, the first Friday prayers leader of Isafahan passed away on Saturday, June 1.
Ayatollah Taheri, who had been hospitalized in Isfahan for some time, died of respiratory complications at the age of 87.
Born in 1926, he was a graduate of Iran-France Society and was fluent in Arabic and French.
Ayatollah Taheri was fought with the Pahlavi regime. After the victory of the Islamic Revolution, he served as representative of the Vali-ye Faqih, Friday prayers leader of Isfahan, and member of the Assembly of Experts.
The senior cleric wrote several books on Islamic and religious book in Arabic.
The International Quran News Agency (IQNA) wishes to extend condolences to the bereaved family over the demise of Ayatollah Taheri.
